Grand Innovation developed a customized curriculum and class format to meet returning citizens needs in partnership with the MI Department of Corrections parole center in Wayne County. Grand Innovation presents at monthly orientations reaching approximately 50 newly released citizens each month; and provides ongoing weekly workshops at the parole center to encourage and support returning citizens to harness entrepreneurship and develop business ideas. Classes explore how creative and innovative thinking can lead to entrepreneurial opportunities, how to turn a passion project into a business, and also cover the economics of running a business. Training is offered on-site as rolling 3-hour workshops as well as in 5-week sessions at Rebel Nell, a social enterprise that employs and empowers disadvantaged women.
